For a few years in a row, the theme for this international event was 'Margaritaville'; fashion show, Jimmy Buffet music and a colorful beach event right on Siesta Key FL.
This event is part demonstration and part competition which always attracts many people from all over the globe. The sand is 98% quartz and it wonderful to work with.
My finished work for a larger production in a hockey stadium located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It was to commemorate the 200th anniversary between Canada and the USA from the 1812 war.
Every year in September, there is a wonderful sand sculpture event at Horseshoe Bay Beach - Bermuda. The sand is natural light pink in color. Our sponsor - Fairmont South Hampton.
This event was in two parts; a competion with only Canadian artists followed by a demonstration. The theme was 'Canada 150'. Here I depict the loonie coin combined with a First Nations motif.
Huh-ay-aht First Nations Sand Sculpture- Vancouver Island - Bamfield, BC, Canada
I had the honour of creating an indigenous style sand sculpture for the 'Huu-ay-ayt' First Nations. It was created right on the natural beach in a small bay adjacent to the campground- Pachena Bay, Bamfield, BC.

White Rock is a small community located 40 kilometres from Vancouver. The USA border is just across the bay. It has a history of sand sculpture events. I call it my 'sand sculpture home'. It is where I started my sand sculpture career more than 30 years ago.

This is an annual event held on the beach in Siesta Key, Florida. The demonstation is followed by an international competion of amazing artists from all over the world. Here, I am creating a logo for one of the sponsors at sunset.
On the eve of Christmas, we created a small sand sculpture on the beach and 100% of the funds collected went to a childrens school in the community of Patnem, Goa.
