For a few years in a row, the theme for this international event was 'Margaritaville'; fashion show, Jimmy Buffet music and a colorful beach event right on Siesta Key FL.

2nd place winners of the famous 'Crystal Classic'  sand sculpture event held in Siesta Key Florida.

Creating the title piece and this year I was delegated to create this title for the 'Circus' theme.

Sand sculpture takes many forms and this one is done with an assortment of different tools. It can be best appreciated from the view of the pier.

This event is part demonstration and part competition which always attracts many people from all over the globe. The sand is 98% quartz and it wonderful to work with.

My award winning sculpture for the Helsinki Zoo - 'Peoples Choice'. It is about an indigenous story in regards to creation of the earth.

This event was in two parts; a competion with only Canadian artists followed by a demonstration. The theme was 'Canada 150'. Here I depict the loonie coin combined with a First Nations motif.

A promotion for GM's 'Chevy Volt'. This event was held right on the waterfront of Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver, BC.

I had the honour of creating an indigenous style sand sculpture for the 'Huu-ay-ayt' First Nations. It was created right on the natural beach in a small bay adjacent to the campground- Pachena Bay, Bamfield, BC.

Harrison Hot Springs was a place that we made sand sculpture for more than 20 years. In this image, I am doing a practice piece for the Parksville event- 2010 Inukshuk.

White Rock is a small community located 40 kilometres from Vancouver. The USA border is just across the bay. It has a history of sand sculpture events. I call it my 'sand sculpture home'. It is where I started my sand sculpture career more than 30 years ago.
